7 Tips for the Week of Your Wedding

Planning Resources

There are literally a million different things going on the week of your wedding. You have to worry about the food, the flowers, the dress – will it fit, any tricky family dynamics, the list goes on and on and on. But first, stop and take a deep breath. Everything is coming to come together without a hitch and it’s literally going to be the best day ever! Here are 7 tips to stay relaxed and refreshed for the day of your wedding!

Drinks Lots of Water!

By far one of the biggest tips I can give to brides is to stay hydrated! It literally makes such a difference for everything. All of those little details. Your hair, your skin, the way you feel. There are literally so many different things to coordinate for your wedding. And it’s so easy to stress. When we stress we don’t take care of our bodies the way we should. Water should be at the top of your priorities list. Water and staying hydrated will help keep your skin plump and fresh and your hair will stay soft and frizz-free.

Keep Your Routine

Don’t make any sudden changes to your routine. This isn’t the time to try a new facial mask or a juice cleanse for the first time. Keep it simple and stick to what you know.

Self Care is Your Best Friend

I already mentioned staying hydrated. But, take it one or more steps further. Get your nails done, hair mask at a local salon, or a massage. Or literally all of the above. Because that’s what I would do and then some. Don’t get overwhelmed take anything one step at a time but make sure you do something that takes care of you, because you are the most important person on this day.

Triple Check All of Your Appointments

Confirm, confirm, confirm. Make sure you have your nail appointment scheduled, that your hair person will be there the day of the wedding at the time you need them to be, and your makeup artist. And make sure any other vendors have you scheduled on the right day at the right time it’ll 10000000% put your mind at ease. If they’re a good vendor they should reach out to you can anyway to confirm the big day. I always text my clients a week before to let them know I have their back and I will be there!

Point Person

Assign a point person for photos at the very least. Typically a point person for the whole day works best. This means they will have your back through the day. This is seriously a huge responsibility. Obviously you have a maid and or matron of honor that you can rely on to fill this position as well. However, I hate to be that person but sometimes the people we pick to fill those roles aren’t always the people that can get shit done. This person needs to fully be prepared to take charge of the day and get everyone in shape so that you can relax and just have fun.

Don’t Be Afraid To Delegate

Make delegate your middle name. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and to assign tasks to people. That’s what the wedding party is there for. They are there to help you and the week of your wedding delegate all the tasks that aren’t worth your time. Don’t be afraid to relinquish some control to people that you know can get the job done.

Take A Deep Breath

Just take a deep breath and relax. I’m sure your mind is going a million miles per hour. But, you can give your best self when you’re overwhelmed. So, take a step back and breathe. You can’t help anyone and most importantly yourself if you’re stressed out.

There are literally a million things going on the week of your wedding. But, the best thing that you can do is to put yourself first. Yes, it can be that simple a happy bride makes for a happy wedding. Take things as they come and try not to stress. That’s definitely a lot harder than it sounds but seriously! Stress and worry do nothing but make the situation or situations worse if and when they do arise. Trust your vendors and take care of yourself!
