So, you’re wondering where to have engagement photos in Miami? There are so many gorgeous places throughout Miami that could make the perfect location for your photos. Miami is a place with a rich culture and gorgeous beaches. I’m sure you’ll be able to find a spot that is exactly what you’re looking for. Here are 12 engagement photo locations in Miami.
1. Miami Beach
Miami Beach is the reason why people come to far and wide to visit Miami. It’s iconic and of course busy. Trying to find a spot here during peak season is a challenge. But, if you come during sunrise you’d be pleasantly surprised. The water is always warm the people are friendly and the lifeguard station plays their role perfectly. If you’re local to Miami or even if you’re just calling home for now this beach is a perfect way to capture some Miami essence. This is of course at the top of the list for engagement photo locations in Miami.
2. Esme Hotel
Esme Hotel is located on the historic Espanola Way and it’s a gorgeous estate. It has a bar and restaurant with unique Spanish-Mediterranean architecture. The pink interior and design of the hotel are unforgettable and iconic in every way. Getting drinks on the roof, el salon, or the Drexel is a great way to kick off your engagement session and capture this gorgeous building.
3. Vizcaya Museum & Garden
Vizcaya Museum & Garden is one of the most gorgeous places in Miami. And if you’re looking for your engagement session to be classy and romantic then this is the place for you. With over 10 acres of property, there are so many gorgeous places to get lost in. My biggest recommendations with Vizcaya are to either be the very first people there or the last people there to minimize the crowds and overall have a better experience. Alternatively, they also offer time slots before they open to the public for sessions. Since you do need to pay for a photography permit one of those timeslots is ideal.
4. Sylvester Bar
Sylcestar Bar has those old-school vintage film vibes with amazing drinks and a fun time. I love starting a bar or popping a bubble to start an engagement session because it can be nice to just break the ice and ease the nerves a little before getting started. And Sylvester Bar is one of the places where you know your night is off to a great start there. Between the pool table, the bar, and the drinks you’re bound to have a good time. That’s why it’s one of the best engagement photo locations in Miami.
5. Miami Beach Botanical Garden
Miami Beach Botanical is located right in South Beach and though it’s a little small it is still a gorgeous space. While the garden is free to the public, it costs $150 to take professional photos here. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday and I would highly recommend getting here right when it opens. Since it is open to the public and a small space it can get a little crowded but first thing in the morning there’s almost no one there making it feel even more calm and serene.
6. Matheson Hammock Park
Matheson Hammock Park is a lovely scenic park with an unusual feature–a man-made atoll pool. It’s gorgeous with palm trees throughout the park while other parts are lined with mangrove forests. The park is open from sunrise to sunset so definitely choose your time wisely for the best experience.
7. Walton Historic House
Walton Historic House is a unique event space that offers a cottage-like house amid a botanical garden. The space is stunning and is one of the great engagement photo locations in Miami if you’re looking for something a little different. And because it’s an event space for rent you typically can have the space two yourselves for just a small fee.
8. Hobie Beach
Hobie Beach is located near Key Biscayne and is one of the few beaches throughout Miami that allows dogs. The sand is white and soft and allows easy access to the water. However, parking here could be better. So, plan accordingly as weekends are filled with people training and it’s practically a fight to the death to get a spot. Also, be sure to look at the tides because the beach can be so small during high tide, that not much actual beach is accessible.
9. Prado Entrance
This structure sits in a garden-like environment on the two-hundred-foot-wide median of the Prado. It is a structure of brick with a stucco finish. This is a great location if you’re looking for architecture you don’t want to pay to go to a location like Vizcaya as you can come here for free. And because it’s free it’s definitely a hotspot for exploring and for photos.
10. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park
This is one of the prettiest state parks in Florida and a great location to live out your fantasy of being in the notebook. While the lighthouse and its grounds are currently closed you can still get some gorgeous views and amazing shots with it’s in the background. Be mindful to get here early as the park will close at capacity on weekends and holidays.
11. Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden
This is a perfect location for couples who are looking for a lush tropical background for their engagement photos. Located at 10901 Old Cutler Rd, Coral Gables, FL 33156 the gardens can be accessed relatively easily. You do need to obtain a photo permit while you’re there. And the grounds are open with lots of space so you’ll be able to explore without very few crowds.
12. Art Deco District
The Art Deco District is right off of Ocean Drive and if you’re looking to capture the buildings I recommend coming early in the morning or in the late afternoon. While some of the streets are now blocked off it can still be crazy busy during the day, especially on weekends. But, don’t let that deter you from wanting to explore this Miami gem.
