These Miami Beach Botanical Garden photos will always live rent-free in my head. Christine and Casey got engagement earlier this and year and have been planning a wedding in South Beach. I was so excited to connect with them when I moved to Miami and be able to photograph them in the place that they fell in love.
South Beach has become home to the two of them their cat Mari and their dog Suzy. Both are originally from New York but love the warm weather that Miami has year-round. And they are so incredibly excited for the friends and family that will be traveling down to celebrate them!
Christine and Casey on their first time meeting each other.
Casey – “I first heard about Christine through a mutual friend who thought we would be a great match. We first met at a comedy show that we went to for a mutual friend’s birthday. I was actually there with another date, but I couldn’t stop looking at Christine the entire night. Soon after, I asked Christine out, and she said I have to stop dating anyone else before we get together. Our first date was January 1st — a great way to start the year.”
Christine – “I first heard about Casey through a mutual friend who invited us both to her birthday party at a comedy show. My first impressions of Casey were that he was well-spoken, and very kind. He was with other date, so I tried not to pay too much attention to be totally honest, haha! But luckily it all worked out soon after.”
Tips for Miami Beach Botanical Garden Photos
- Get to Miami Beach Garden right when they open. They’re open Tues-Sun 9 am – 5 pm. And if you can get there right as they open the gate you’ll be able to avoid most of the crowds.
- This place can get busy so be prepared to be patient!
- Be mindful of what you’re wearing. I loved that Christine and Casey wore white and lighter colors so that they would really stand out from green that is throughout the garden.
- Wear shoes that you won’t mind if they get some dirt on them. While this garden does have concrete pathways some of the nicest areas to take photos in are on the grass so be prepared.
- The garden is a little small so I would recommend only an hour here and then another location in South Beach.
- Don’t forget to purchase your $150 photo permit from the gift shop.
We all got to Miami Beach Botanical Garden nice and early on a Saturday morning in mid-July. It was definitely hot but not too bad. The semi-early wake-up call was definitely worth it since we pretty much had the whole garden to ourselves for the first house. Then towards the end of the session around 10 am there were definitely more people around and things going on. Also by 10 am it was already starting to be sweltering hot so it was nice to be done before it got too hot as well.
We started under this gorgeous tree that was perfect to get some candid of Christine and Casey walking and just having fun with each other. We got to explore the whole garden during our session and it truly is so beautiful and serene. If you’re ever in Miami Beach and need a little break from the chaos that is South Beach definitely check this place out.
