There are soo many gorgeous places around New York City and Brooklyn it can be hard to decide on a location that’s perfect for your engagement photos. But, when Erin and Jack knew they wanted to include their dog lady for their Brooklyn engagement photos. I knew of the perfect place that she wouldn’t get too overstimulated and we would still have gorgeous views.

Of course, we decided on a date that just so happened to be one of the hottest NYC summer days. But, either way, we made the best of it. And had an absolute blast at the park and the carousel before grabbing dinner at Time Out. If you haven’t been I would definitely recommend trying it out! There are soo many different options. And being models for their Brooklyn engagement photos we had all worked up quite an appetite.
I love it when couples want to include their dogs in their important life moments. Trust me, I know they can be a little much to handle. But, it’s always so worth it. I truly believe our animals are such important beings in our lives and deserve to have their spotlight moment too. Lady did amazing and she is the cutest. And don’t worry we’ll be sure to make you get your solo moment too.
Here are some of my best tips for Brooklyn engagement photos:
- If you can come on a weekday evening or better yet a sunrise. The city is always busy and people are always going to be out and about doing something, but picking a non prime time goes a long way.
- Be sure to check local events happening if you choose somewhere like a park. I love a social justice movement but don’t necessarily want them during my engagement photos.
- When picking two or more locations be sure to consider travel time.
- If you want to change in the middle of your session be sure to think of the plan for where before hand.
I loved including film in my sessions and weddings. It’s been such a fun and challenging new medium to learn. There’s something that film captures that digital just can’t. And I’m happy that my couples love it just as much as I do.
It was soo fun getting to capture Erin & Jack. They are high school sweethearts who are sooo incredibly excited to be entering their newest chapter in a beautiful city that has become home.
