Elvira and Steve’s Fort Point elopement was definitely one for the books. We started off the day at the gorgeous hotel The Line in downtown San Francisco. I don’t think we could have asked for more perfect weather, especially for San Francisco. I mean clear blue skies, a slight breeze but nothing too crazy, the weather was an absolute dream.
Elvira and Steve traveled to San Francisco from Houston and the “cooler” weather was a welcome reprieve from the Texas humidity.
The Line was incredibly kind and opened up the rooftop bar Rise over Run for Elvira and Steve to have an intimate first look. It was so special and memorable and then after the first look they read private vows that they had written for one another before we headed to San Francisco City Hall
San Francisco City Hall
San Francisco City Hall is one of the most gorgeous city buildings in all of California. It’s no wonder people travel from all over the world to get married here.
Elvira and Steve opted for a civil ceremony since they planned this whole gorgeous day in just 3 months!? They had nine people travel out to witness them get married and they lucked out getting to have their ceremony on the Mayor’s Balcony, since it’s normally reserved for 1-hour ceremonies.
After their ceremony, we explored all City Hall had to offer. There are sooo many gorgeous places in San Francisco we started on the 4th floor (which is one of my favorite locations in City Hall). Then we went to the 3rd floor and of course had to get lots on the grand staircase.
Palace of Fine Arts
After San Francisco City Hall we headed to the Palace of Fine Arts. The Palace of Fine Arts is always gorgeous but sometimes it can be soo crowded and busy it can be hard to navigate all the people. That’s one of the many reasons why it’s so nice to get married on a weekday. Elvira and Steve got married on a Tuesday so the Palace of Fine Arts was calm and had very few people around.
Fort Point Elopement
There are so many places throughout San Francisco that I absolutely love. I could spend hours and hours going on and on. But, really you can’t go wrong with any view of the Golden Gate bridge. A San Francisco and California staple. I love being a tourist in my own city, especially when you get perfect days like this one.
These photos were taken at Fort Point which is super easy to get to. During the busy tourist season parking maybe be a bit sparse but you can definitely still find a spot. The second location was at Crissy fields if you’re local then you know what a gem this spot is. You can also totally park near Crissy Fields and then walk over to Fort Point just for a quick view.
