SF Engagement Photos | Maria & Daniel

California

When Maria and Daniel reached out for their SF engagement photos I was so excited to chat to them both! At the time it was like we were trading coasts since they had just finished moving to SF and me moving to Miami. I was so excited to connect and here more about them, what they envision, and of course some Miami recs.

We chatted over Zoom and I made suggestion for downtown SF and then Maria saw some photos of mine at Marshall’s Beach and so she really wanted to go there too. These photos were taken in June so it’s always a fingers crossed and hope for the best weather-wise because you never what to expect.

Couple cheering drinks.

Vesuvio is one of my personal favorite bars in SF. So, I always love when a couple wants to go here. Vesuvio is in North Beach and is one of the oldest bars in San Francisco. It has a lot of character which makes it perfect for SF engagement photos.

Tip for Downtown SF Engagement Photos

  1. Plan for other activities in the city whether is getting a drink or coffee. As fun as it is to get the city backdrop it also relives nerves when you get to an activity during your photos.
  2. I love this spot in North Beach since it has the iconic Trans-America building background some other great locations are off Market St or off Pier 2.
  3. Come with a lot of patience. Downtown is crazy and SF has a lot of characters. So, some shot might take a couple tries and that’s ok!

Maria and Daniel met in postgrad studying at FIU in Miami. They are both physician assistants and just recently moved to San Francisco. They really want to get some engagement photos in their new home before their wedding in Columbia. And what better way to celebrate then capture this new chapter in their new home and favorite city.

Tip for Marshall Beach Engagement Photos

  1. Park at the Golden Gate Overlook, that’s where parking closest to the trailhead is. And be sure to leave nothing in your car.
  2. Pack sandals or comfy shoes for the short hike down. It’s very short but a little rocky.
  3. Be sure to check tide times so that the beach is actually accessible. Since the beach is so small here if the tide is high enough, there’s not that much to actually enjoy/walk on.

Tips for SF Engagement Photos

  1. NEVER EVER leave anything in your car under ANY circumstances – car break-ins are TERRIBLE here it’s always best to leave your car empty.
  2. Plan ahead for traffic – leave 15 minutes are than you think you need it’s a major city and you just never know what going on in the streets
  3. If you can’t drive around the city I suggest Uber or Waymo.
