Big Sur Wedding | Courtney + Ben

Elopements

This highway 1 Big Sur “elopement” was so much fun! From the fluffy dress that turned into this retro jumpsuit. I was getting all of the vibes even though it was kind freezing yes even in July! If anyone is ever down to rent another rad old time chevy please let me know ASAP! Because let me just tell you this guy was a looker. We rented him from Monterey Tour Vehicles and cannot recommend them enough! Everyone that works there is so kind helpful. And they obviously had some of the most rad vehicles in all of Monterey!

Something that so crazy about northern California is the weather. It will never cease to amaze me how places near the beach can go from being completely clear during the day to freezing cold at night. Big Sur is no exception and typically the best weather is during September and October oddly enough.

Highway 1 in California is known for running along the coast. You can essentially take it all the way from Northern California to Southern California assuming there’s no construction. It’s iconic for being the scenic route and stunning views of the Pacific. Highway 1 lets you see all of the great coast that lines all of California. Including some major points like Big Sur where you can stop along McWay Falls and other spots in Malibu, Ventura, etc. the list could go on and on!

Eloping in Big Sur is always a good idea no matter what way you spin it! There are countless spots and places to make the experience completely yours and unique to you. From the mountains to the beaches these amazing places line the coast of California and will have a lasting impression on your heart. This Big Sur elopement is no different. It was one of those days that makes me truly thankful to live in California and have access to places like this just at my fingertips.

Ben and Courtney are a super rad couple based out of Santa Cruz, California. They are photographers/videographers, and the owners of Sand and Stone Media. They are genuinely super sweet and down to earth people. Courtney roughed it in the freezing cold wind but, boy did it certainly pay off. Their work is absolutely stunning you can find some of it here and if you’re ever looking for a dynamic duo wife and husband team definitely check them out. They love to travel together and are always down for another adventure.
