Tomales Bay and Marshall made the perfect back drop for this Lodge at Marconi wedding. I had the pleasure of working with Kara and Alex over the course of a year from their engagement photos to their wedding day.
We met back last spring and when Kara reached out and inquired about engagement photos. After chatting we had the whole outing planned to adventure to a couple of spots in the Marin headlands. We were blessed with some perfect golden and clear weather in the Bay and they loved the photos so much they booked me for their wedding.
The Lodge at Marconi is a new venue in the Marshall area with only one year of weddings under their belts. But, this stunning venue is the perfect place for an escape from the Bay Area.

Sometimes love begins in the most ordinary places—like the workplace. That’s exactly how Alex and Kara met, and while office romances can be tricky, theirs felt effortless from the start. “Don’t worry,” Kara laughs, “a lot of people from this particular job end up dating!” But from day one, this wasn’t just a casual fling. These two were serious about each other and their future together right away.
In fact, their third date was a full weekend getaway to Mendocino. “Not sure I’d recommend that as a third date option to everyone,” Kara admits, “but it worked for us!” The trip sealed the deal: they were all in.

If there’s one thing that truly bonds them, it’s their shared love for their dog, Parker. They brought him home as an eight-week-old puppy, and now he’s almost three. “We LOVE how much the other LOVES our pup,” Kara says. Parker’s adventures with them—on hikes, around the city, and curled up on the couch—are at the heart of their life together. So, it was only natural that they both wanted Parker there for there day. They even made his the dog of honor and he present them with their wedding bands.

Review from Kara and Alex
“Torez was our incredible photographer for our engagement session and April ’25 wedding. Our photos are gorgeous but a few things really made Torez stand out. She did an amazing job of being discreet while capturing great images; this was our top criteria and she was super thoughtful about how to get the shot without disrupting our ability to stay in the moment. She was amazing at dealing with outdoor locations with challenging lighting, wind etc.(both our engagement session and ceremony were outdoors!)
She is thoughtful about poses and did an awesome job suggesting poses that got great results but didn’t feel too forced, and her final gallery has a great mix of angles / crops / etc. that means everyone is happy. She shot some on film for both our sessions; I ADORE film and these photos I will truly treasure forever, this was again a major thing we were looking for in our photographer. THANK YOU Torez – highly recommend to any Bay Area brides.”

Tips For a Lodge at Marconi Wedding
- Be sure to pick your wedding date carefully. One of the highlights of this venue is the ceremony space overlooking Tomales Bay. However, cold, foggy, miserable weather would definitely put a damper on the day. I would suggest late spring/early summer, or fall.
- Build in time for getting to and from the ceremony spot. It can be a little walk so you may want to ask someone to drive you or bring a change of shoes.
- Depending on how big your wedding is, Buck Hall makes a great spot to have an “after-party” if that’s not where your main dinner is taking place.
- Cell service can be kind of spotty driving to the Lodge at Marconi from the freeway so I would recommend downloading the directions offline so that you can still access them. This is also really good to let your guests know so, if they aren’t staying at the lodge after your celebration they can have a safe drive home.
