When I got the opportunity to photograph Maddi and Brandon on a sailboat, I was so incredibly excited. I think we were all excited about these sailboat engagement photos. And we could not have asked for more perfect weather for the beginning of December in Florida. It was just warm enough for bathing suits and clear enough for some gorgeous blue water.
Maddi and Brandon started dating just over 6 years ago and are so incredibly excited to tie the knot in front of their closest friends and family. They plan on having a beautiful Tuscany intimate wedding and are so excited to see their vision come to life.
How to Plan Your Sailboat Engagement Photos
- Be sure to book your boat ahead of time. There are lots of amazing sites that can help book a boat for the day. Usually, boats have a minimum amount of time so be prepare to have to book anywhere from 2-4 hours.
- When booking your time, be sure to consider what time the sunset is in your specific location. You want to give yourself enough time to make it make to the dock or marina.
- Most sailboats you’re looking for will have the capacity to hold at least 4 people but be sure to make sure. The sailboat should be able to hold both of you, your photographer, and the sailor.
- Be sure to pick and pack one casual look and one more elegant look so you can get the most out of your time on the boat.
Absolutely in love with Maddi’s second look for their sailboat engagement. The dress fit her so well and was giving a perfect nod to her bridal moment. And for guys, linen is always a great option especially in the summer moments or on a hot day since it’s so breathable.
