San Francisco Botanical Garden Wedding | Jordynn & Erik

Weddings

Jordynn and Erik had the most perfect day for their San Francisco Botanical Garden Wedding. This day was a long time coming for these two as they first met when they were in 7th grade! And now after college, post-master degrees, and a few countries later they were finally able to tie the knot. They both wanted a day that was true to them and in their favorite city. So, we set out for a day full of adventure through San Francisco.

Getting Ready at Hotel Zeppelin

Jordynn and Erik first met in 7th grade. Erik remembers it exactly like this “I met Jordynn for the first time in our 7th grade math class, we were in similar friend groups and I always had a crush on her but never acted on it. We dated other people throughout high school and eventually went to different colleges. We ended up talking for a while that evening away from our other friends and I knew I wanted to try to make a move at that point but was too nervous to do it, we eventually got interrupted by our friends and it ended there for the night. She visited again to join us for a New Year’s party, and between our friends subtly pushing us together and the alcohol we shared a New Year’s kiss. And the rest was history.”

Rowboats at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park

They chose the Redwood Grove at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens partly because of it’s affordability. And also because it was a slice of quietness in the hustle and bustle of SF. It was truly the perfect location for their San Francisco Botanical Garden Wedding. It was the best option to combine their love of redwoods with the love they have for San Francisco. Their main vision was to have a relaxed, fun, and intimate wedding day where the vibrant gardens and city scenes served as their non-traditional decor.

They had no official first look but instead chose to get ready together downtown at the Hotel Zeppelin. After they finished getting ready together they headed to Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. That was where it was always Jordynn’s dream to ride in the rowboats on her wedding day so that’s exactly what they did.

They got to Stow Lake and Jordynn and Erik were congratulated by lots of people while patiently waiting their turn to get on a row boat. Once on the rowboat they were able to explore the lake. And truly make some unique wedding day memories before heading off to the Botanical Garden for their ceremony.

San Francisco Botanical Garden has lots of gorgeous places where couples can tie the knot. Both Jordynn and Erik love redwoods so they opted for the Redwood Stern Grove. Once they got there the nerves started kicking in a little at which point Jordynn popped out her favorite spirit some gin.

They had a beautiful processional where their good friend Marlee sang Here Comes the Sun to both Erik and Jordynn walking into the ceremony. Their ceremony was beautiful Jordynn and Erik wrote their own vows that they read in front of their closest family and friends before performing their unity ceremony. For their unity ceremony, they wrote letters to each other that are to be read on their five-year anniversary but will be locked in a box with their favorite wine until then. Jordynn and Erik then kissed for the first time as husband and wife.

Downtown San Francisco Wedding Adventure

After their ceremony, they then headed to Vesuvio, a little bar with a lot of history, in downtown SF. Vesuvio is actually rumored to have been part-owned by Jodrynn’s great-grandfather at it’s inception. This is one of their favorite bars in San Francisco and it only felt right to make a stop here before their reception. They grabbed their favorite drinks, Palomas, and even were bought a glass of champagne by a kind patron.

After their drink, they headed to Del Popolo where they had a delicious dinner and celebration with their guests. It was the perfect end to a perfect San Francisco Botanical Garden wedding.
