A Santa Barbara Courthouse elopement is a simple and still elegant way to say “I do” to your partner. Jess and Pete had a gorgeous day from beginning to end. The only thing that could have made it better would’ve been the sun. But, hey sometimes things are just out of your control!
Jess and Pete actually got married 2 years ago in Goleta but had the unfortunate misfortune of their photographer losing almost all of their photos. So, they wanted to do a little something different to celebrate 2 year together and get dressed again in the city that they now get to call home.
Getting Ready
Everything about this shoot was so special from getting ready in their home together to just getting to spend the day with each other hanging out, goofing off, taking shots, and feeling all those just married feels again. They had this gorgeous stationery made to commemorate this day and their love.
We started with getting ready at Jess and Pete’s new home in Santa Barbara. She had the absolute best square in Lindsay and Ja’Nice. They listened to her and made her beauty dreams come true. While Jess was getting glammed Peter was hanging out asking questions and making everyone cookies and lattes it was such a fun way to start an elopement.
They decided to write some vows for each other. And after finished helping each other with their finishing details before taking a shot to help ease the nerves.
They then headed over to the Santa Courthouse in this sweet vintage ride from Woody’s Vintage. Which I cannot recommend enough!
Santa Barbara Courthouse Elopement
At the courthouse, Jess and Pete said some short and sweet vows and promises to each other. Then of course they sealed the deal with a kiss.
The courthouse was absolutely gorgeous and it was so fun getting to explore the Sunken Gardens. All the architecture of the courthouse was beautiful even admit the construction.
The vintage car was an absolute stunner! And I was obsessed with these newspaper elopement announcements. They were so cute and personal and Jess and Pete knew how much their moms would love them!
Butterfly Beach
After their Santa Barbara courthouse elopement we headed to Butterfly Beach for a few more photos and to cut the cake. Since it wasn’t the prettiest day we had the beach to ourselves. Which honestly is a win.
They then finished the day by cutting into a cake! It was a perfect day from beginning to end and one I think we’ll all really remember.

Meet Your Santa Barbara Elopement Photographer
Hi, I’m Torez. I’m a Bay Area native who has a special place in her heart for Santa Barbara which is why I love being a Santa Barbara Wedding and Elopement Photographer. From the rich history to the beautiful landscapes. It’s a southern California hidden gem. I’d love to show you around some of my favorite spots and capture your memories! I’m an absolute hopeless romantic and I watch all of the rom-com and corny Hallmark movies without any shame. And I cry at every single wedding I go to.
I help all my couples through the planning process. You don’t have to keep track of all your wild ideas. Any time you have an idea, you can pop into your inbox and send me a message. It’s super easy! And I’ll be there to make you laugh, guide you through the whole process, and make things easy and fun. I love to meet couples where they’re at whether that’d be being silly and candid or maybe more serious and posed. Let’s capture you being you and having fun!
